Checking in on IYRS

Visiting Newport in the off-season is such a treat. The streets aren't crowded, the best restaurants are open and you can get a really grand room for not a lot of dough. There is always something going on in Newport, but in the winter it quiets down just enough to allow us to hit all our favorite places in town as well as those beautiful beaches at a very relaxed pace. We make the trip whenever we can.

We drove up on Friday for one night. It gave us a chance to check in on a few projects, catch up with good friends and to enjoy a delicious dinner at Harbour Court followed by lunch on Saturday at 22 Bowen. Yum! Before we headed back home to compete in a winter (outdoor) badminton tourney, we also had a chance to check in on the happenings at the International Yacht Restoration School (IYRS). Even on a Saturday, students are often on campus working on their projects. Here are a photos from my trusty iPhone.
