Short Tacks

Short Tack posts are exactly as they appear:  brief observations on moments of yachting history. Or, maybe a cheerful post from you, or a great tool or helpful tip. We'd love to hear your Short Tack suggestions. Send them on!

Our first Short Tack:
- A Grande Dame Yacht Club  still presiding over her harbor in Long Island Sound: Larchmont.
Larchmont Yacht Club - 1897

The porch at Larchmont YC keeps watch over her lovely harbor and she hasn't changed much since 1897. Have you had their signature cocktail - the Montesanto?

We're looking forward to racing at Larchmont Race week in the Classic Division. 115 years ago, the start looked like this with boats that had many sails and required many more hands on deck.
